Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Achilles Anthony C. Ebron of DENR-CENRO Bunawan accepted his new designation as the new in-charge of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Surigao del Sur during a simple turnover ceremony last July 08, 2019 at PENRO Tandag City, Surigao del Sur in compliance with the DENR Regional Special Order No. 353 series of 2019.
Regional Executive Director (RED) of DENR Caraga Atty. Felix S. Alicer who graced the turnover ceremony explained that the revamp of key officials among PENROs and CENROs within the region with emphasis on those officials who have served a three-year service in their area is adherent to the policy being imposed by the DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu.
“I have consulted the DENR Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Samuel C. Danganan and the Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Ben Ali B. Dacampong and we are in accord that PENRO Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur need seasoned managers to handle sensitive issues”, RED Alicer said.
As veteran forester, CENRO Ebron rose from the rank and served the DENR for more than 35 years now. He is a recipient of the Regional Eagle Award, the highest Award of Excellence in the DENR Caraga Regional Office which was recently conferred on him by RED Alicer.
Outgoing OIC, PENR Officer Jose Flavio V. Concha, who served DENR for more than three decades and more than three years as in-charge of DENR-PENRO Surigao del Sur is transferred to head the PENRO Agusan del Sur pursuant to DENR Regional Special Order No. 352 series of 2019.
Meanwhile, DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu affirmed the designations of Ebron and Concha through Special Order No. 2019-647 dated September 10, 2019. Ebron and Concha shall continue to act on documents and shall perform the duties and responsibilities appurtenant to their designation pursuant to the DENR Manual of Authorities.
